Design Wall Monday...

... last one of 2012.

To see what others are doing visit Judy here.

On my design wall is this:

Our niece is expecting a girl in February.

I still need to applique the eyes. Then I will quilt it before I embroider the facial features and add the bow at the neck.

We think it is a cute pattern and we LOVE the Minkee/Cuddle type fabrics used to make the bear.

I have made this pattern one other time for a co-worker's daughter.

That one was for a boy.

On the back I put the information about the baby in bear paws.

My husband liked it so much he requested I make one for our niece.

Design Wall Monday

Check out what others are doing here.

I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. I hope you all find the peace and joy that is Christmas.

I know I haven't posted in a while. Between school/work, being very sick, and having a quilt project to finish up before Christmas I just haven't had the time.

Now I am trying to post pictures of what I have been working on, but I can't seem to find them on my computer! :(

I did finish up this QFK. I do not care for the Rail Fence pattern, but the Pooh fabrics are very cute.

Quilts For Kids - Rail Fence with Pooh fabric.

I also finished this T-shirt quilt and delivered it Saturday morning. They seemed pleased with it.

T-shirt quilt quilted with Zig-Zag design.
I used the Zig -Zag design board by R&S Design. I didn't quilt them evenly spaced. I like the look of random spacing. I stopped at the designs. Some of them are pretty heavily printed and I was nervous that quilting through them would mess up my machine or cause thread breakage.

I have been doing some knitting.

This:

And this:

I am pretty sure I am ADD. I can't seem to work on one project for very long before switching to another one. I really think I need to retire from work and just work on projects at home! Don't think that would go over well. :)

Again, Merry Christmas to all of you!

Design Wall Monday

Check out what others are doing here.

I don't really have anything on my wall right now, but I did spend today getting T-shirts fused and trimmed. I need to cut the sashing strips next.

I had hoped to get a lot more done this weekend. It was a 4 day weekend for me. Teacher's Institute day on Friday = no work for me and Columbus Day today = no work for me.

But.... Friday I messed around most of the day doing a lot of nothing :)

Saturday was the first day of basketball practice for my son. That amounted to over 3 hours of driving time total and 3 hours of practice, plus about 30 minutes of unloading and loading equipment before and after practice. I did manage to spend a little time at Hobby Lobby. I do NOT need more yarn, or more projects, but notice the price on these. I couldn't pass it up. I really like the BLT scarf I just finished and it worked up so quickly that I am thinking these yarns might work for that pattern.

Sugar 'n Cream will be dishclothes.  Maybe BLT scarves with the rest.

Look at the price! Couldn't resist.

Sunday was the last Swap Meet of this year. Came home with one of these.
This isn't our puppy, but she looks a lot like this one.
Swap Meet Sundays used to be a big deal for my family. Up at 3 am. While my husband did chores and loaded the trailer with whatever we were taking to sale I fixed a cooler with sandwiches and drinks and got my son up and going. We tried to arrive before 5 am when they opened the gates. We usually were done and heading home by noon. Now we just go and look.

Today I did get the shirts fused and trimmed. I had been hoping to get the sashing cut and the top at least partially sewn together. Oh, well.

I did get laundry and some housecleaning done. And some puppy time. :)

On My Needles

On my needles is this....

I finished the sleeves and am ready to finish the body. I put the body on waste yarn so I could work on the sleeves. When I bought this yarn I really liked it. I still like the way it feels, not so crazy about the way it looks in the sleeves. I also think I am not crazy about the white in the yarn. I wish it was just shades of blue.
Anyway, I will finish it. I will probably wear it more as a jacket that I take on and off throughout the day than as a sweater that is left on all day.

Iced Cardigan in Sensations Rainbow Classic Blue

BLT Scarf in Caron Simply Soft Sunset
I also had on and now off the needles this scarf. It worked up quickly, which i wanted. I haven't worn it yet. It has cooled off here so I will being wearing it before too long.

Both of these projects can be found at Ravelry.

Design Wall Monday, October 1

On my design wall OR ...

this post would more aptly could be named Startitis :)

I have been wanting to make one of these for a long time. Now I have a reason to. Like I need a reason to start another project. This is Blue Ridge Beauty by Bonnie Hunter from Quiltmaker Magazine, Jan/Feb 2008.

My son is a senior this year. His first grade teacher has tutored him since 2nd grade and has become a good friend. I feel that she needs a quilt of her own to curl up under on the couch when she is reading or whatever. Just for her. I will back it with Minkee because she loves that soft, cuddly fabric. I want her to know how much I appreciate all she has done for my family. Not only has she tutored my son - a challenge to say the least, she has listened to my problems, with my son, work and family, and helped me come up with some good solutions. See, she is a good friend. :)

Another project I started, and finished (YAY) this weekend is this lovely, knitted scarf. I didn't post it in a What's On My Needles on Friday because I didn't get the yarn until Saturday. I was wanting a project that worked up quickly, and this sure did! This pattern is BLT Scarf. It can be found here. I used Caron Simply Soft in Sunset and it took less than the whole skein.

I also attended a quilt show this weekend. Here are a few pictures from the show. I will post more later.

I am having internet connection issues - again. This seems to be an ongoing thing. I just don't know why, in this great age of technology, that I can't have a better connection:(

Now on to Design Wall Monday.
I finally found the blue I wanted for the T-shirt quilt. Kona cotton Marine. It was been through the wash - twice. The color catchers came out pretty dark the first time so I washed it again, just to be sure it won't run as there are some white shirts being used.

I have been working on another QFK quilt. They sent some very cute Pooh fabric this time.
I have this loaded on the frame, ready to quilt. It is hard to see, but the thin goldish border has honey bees on it. I am thinking of quilting it using a meander stitch with a honey bee every once in a while.

Frustration Flinging

Fair warning - if you don't want to read about my complaints stop reading now!

I have a love/hate relationship with my job. Now, just to be clear, I am VERY grateful to even have a job. And, for the most part, it has been as perfect a job as I could possibly ask for. The hours and days off match my sons school schedule. I LOVE having summers off! I get to work with children all day. Kindergarten children. They are so funny and so much fun and it is so rewarding to see the growth in them through the year. That's the love part :)
The hate part - I get to work with children. Kindergarten children. All. day. long. I mostly love that part, but some of them push to the very limit of my patience. :( And, so do some of the adults that I get to work with. My work area is a table in the teachers lounge. I don't have a desk of my own. My supplies are in big drawers built in under the counter at the very back of the room. The computer that I use is in that room as well. Often times I cannot get to the computer or my drawers because people are standing in the way, having conversations. That's fine. I don't have a problem with that. What I do have a problem with is that they just look at me and keep on talking. I try saying 'excuse me' and inch my way toward the area I need to be in, then wait patiently for them to move. I finally have to break in to their conversation and say 'I need to get ...' whatever I need. The staff also eat their lunches at these tables and I can tell you what they eat by the messes they leave on the tables. Seriously, show a little respect and clean up your mess! I did email the entire staff yesterday requesting that they do that because it is my work area. It is also the work area of anyone - ESL teachers, speech therapists, etc., visiting our building. I am concerned that I may have offended someone, but I did try to word the email nicely. I just wonder what their own homes look like.

I hate cell phones. Again, I am very grateful to have one. I am grateful that my son has one just in case he has an emergency. My husband refuses to use one. But I am not one of those people who is tied to their phone. I recently got a phone I can text with - only because my son thinks he needs to text me. He prefers texting to talking, at least with me. I know sometimes there are situations that don't work well for talking. But, he texts me when I am driving. I don't answer. Besides being illegal to do that, I also happen to think it is unsafe to text while driving. So I get several texts from him before he finally calls. Just wants to know where I am and when I will be home. I cannot leave home for more than a couple of hours without getting a text wanting to know when I will be home. He thinks both of us need to upgrade our phones. He would love to have the latest iPhone. I think $800 is a ridiculous amount of money to spend on a phone. I know it can do many wonderful things, but I still think it is crazy. Sorry if I offended anyone. Just my opinion. I don't need a phone that does all that. I have a basic, unlimited talk and text pay-as-you-go plan. That is all I need. I can access the internet if I need to, but it costs extra. I have a separate GPS for directions when needed. I research places I might want to go before I leave home and get directions from Map Quest. I have found that my GPS doesn't always get a signal so I want a back-up plan if that happens. Besides, I like the bigger computer monitor much better than that teeny, tiny phone screen. :)

My son loves the 4-wheeler. I do not. For him it is like a car since he is unable to drive because of his low vision. He parks his wheelchair right next to it and transfer onto the 4-wheeler. Then off he goes, around and around the yard, or the fields once they are harvested. Then, he stops at the ramp by the door and revs the engine. That is my signal that he wants to tell me something or get him something. He cannot ride that thing without stopping several times - or more. Drives me crazy.

I HATE the clutter in my house. My husband has papers and magazines piled on the floor around his chair. The dining table is covered with his stuff. He knows exactly where everything is and can put his hands on whatever he needs. I don't even try to clean anywhere near his stuff. My son has his piles of stuff. And, just to be fair, I have my quilting stuff in the TV room. I do try to keep it organized, but I feel overwhelmed and discouraged by all the stuff. I feel like 'why should I even bother to try to keep the house clean and orderly when I am the only one who seems to care about it'.

OK, enough whining!

I am so grateful that my family has jobs - me, a teacher's aide, my husband a farmer, my son through the school's work program - and are able to buy the things we really need. We have food, clothing and shelter. I know many do not have enough of these things. I am able to do the hobbies I love - quilting and knitting. We may want for material things that really aren't that necessary , but not for the things necessary to live. So, yes, I know that I am very blessed. :)

On the Needles

On my needles this week is Iced by Carol Feller. It is a free pattern from Ravelry and can be found here.

The yarn is Sensations Rainbow Classic Blue. I was going into my local Joann's store and saw this in the sale bin outside. There were 2 skeins so I thought I should rescue them! Like I need another project. This is working up pretty quickly since it is a bulky yarn. I was in need of a quick project. I have been a little frustrated lately. I have been asked to make a T-shirt quilt. The customer wants solid blue sashing, outer border, backing and binding with a solid white inner border. I found a solid blue that was the perfect match to the blue in the T-shirts. There was only 1 1/4 yards on the bolt. I need 9 yards. I was told it could be special ordered and delivered to the store. I asked if I could get it through their on-line store and was told that I could do that. I was given the number off the bolt so I would be able to identify the color. When I got on-line I could not find that fabric listed. I sent an e-mail to customer service and was told that item was an in-store purchase only. So, the next weekend I went back to the store to do a special order. Their computer showed that they had 11 yards in the store. I found the bolt from the weekend before with the 1 1/4 yards on it. I also found a bolt with a different manufacture name with that same number. I took it to the counter also. That bolt was the 11 yards. Seems the manufacture name has changed. Same number, same color name - bright blue, but the colors are not even close. None of the other blues looked right. So I went to the other 2 fabric stores in town only to find that non of the blues are what I am looking for. Looking some more tomorrow. I am afraid to order on-line since the colors may not be true on the computer monitor.

Mrs. Cranky

Well, school has been in session for about a month now. Most of the kids are settling in well. Some - not so much :)
There have been a few staff changes this year. Most of that is going well. Some - not so  much :)

The kids - they are Kindergarteners, remember? - have been a little - umm - energetic the last few days. Some of my duties include recess, lunch and storytime/bathroom break.

The second lunch group was especially noisy yesterday. I had to get a little cranky with them to get them to quiet down and listen so they could clean up their trays and line up for recess. Then, later, at storytime/bathroom break they were noisy again. They kept talking while I was reading. I had informed them at the beginning of the school year that I would nicely ask them to listen, but if they chose not to listen that I would stop reading. Yesterday I had to stop reading. As I was quietly sitting there waiting for them to quiet down one of the boys said to me, "You're really nice". I told him that I was feeling a little cranky and didn't feel nice. His classmate sitting next to him said, "I think you need a cupcake"!

Ha - kids are so funny and so sweet. :)

DWM...

Not exactly ON my design wall. Still in the early designing stage.

I have been asked by a co-worker (for her mother) to make a T-shirt quilt with the grandson's high school and college shirts.

There are 21 t-shirts. Originally she wanted a lay-out of 3 across and 7 down. She wants the quilt bigger than twin size, but it doesn't have to be the size of a double bed. Big enough to cover the guy. She had pictures of how she wanted them laid out. Very helpful!! Anyway, I did some math and sent her the information. The quilt would be skinny and very long. She thought about it and decided that it could bed 4 across and 6 down and she would come up with 3 more shirts. Then she thought some more and decided that it would be fine to be 4 across and 5 down and we could remove one shirt. With 2 inch sashing and a 2 inch border and a 4 inch border I think the size will be fine. I made a new lay-out, took a picture and emailed it to her. Now I am just waiting to hear if the new lay-out is ok.
The reason for the holes in the lay-outs is that for 2 of the shirts we are using both the front and back designs.

And, as I am looking at these lay-outs I see that I have two light colored shirts on top of each other on the upper left. It seems that no matter how hard I try I almost always end up with this problem.Looks like I could swap one of the gray ones near the bottom for one of the white ones near the top.

Pinteresting

Hello, my name is Cindy and I am a Pinterestaholic.

Yes, I have found Pinterest.

I spend hours looking at what everyone else has pinned. I look at the websites and the blogs and I repin lots of things. Quilty pins, crafty pins, knitty pins, recipe pins.

I spend lots of time looking and pinning, but not much time actually making anything.

Before Pinterest I looked at websites and blogs and saved and printed out things I thought I might want to make. I have a 3 inch binder full of knitty things I want to make. I have a 3 inch binder full of quilty things I want to make. I have  2 inch binder of other crafty things I want to make.

I got to thinking about that and decided I need to start MAKING things.

I posted this yesterday. It is a pattern designed to hold a Mason jar. I think it works well for a jar candle too. Probably shouldn't burn the candle with the handle up though. I can think of all kinds of gifty things to put in these little baskets. Not just for Christmas either.
Pattern can be found here at The Wooden Bear.

Next was this case/stand for electronics. I made one for my iPod touch. It's padded and stiffened with cardboard so it supports the iPod well. I like to read during my lunch break. This will be great since I won't have to lean it up against my drink bottle now.
Pattern can be found here at Made by Marzipan.

Last is this card. I was gifted some cards with cut-outs so that something could be inserted. I used a 4 inch paper pieced tree pattern. Fits nicely. I think I might embellish the next one.
This pattern can be found here at Forest Quilting.

DWM

On my design wall this week....

Another Blazing Star
This is the one I am making for my mom.
So now I have 2 blocks finished.
3 more to go.

I found this cute pattern at The Wooden Bear.

Click here and scroll down a little. Click the link to open the pattern. It is a PDF file.

The pattern shows a quart mason jar.
I used a pint jar for the picture.
I cut a circle of batting and fabric for the lid of the jar so it coordinates nicely.

A jar candle looks nice too.

I used Christmas fabrics for this one, but I think you could use any fabric and put just about any gift item that would fit in this little basket.

Design Wall Monday

On my design wall this week....

Blue & yellow Blooming Star block
more of the Blooming Stars for my mom.
The blue and yellow star.

I am working on the Mystery 4 Military
Mystery 28 clues as leader/enders.

This clue is half-square triangles.

Many years ago  a lady asked me to finish a quilt started by someone else.

She had the flowers - I think a lot of them were already joined together, more hexagons and some yellow fabric.

She wanted me to use the yellow fabric to make a wide border so the quilt would be big enough for a baby quilt and quilt it.

She gave me the remaining flowers, hexagons and yellow fabric. There are 31 finished flowers, and a half one. I have not counted the single hexagons. There is enough of the yellow to make a small border and binding, I think, depending on how big the finished quilt is.

Every so often I pull it out and look at it. I really don't want to sew together anymore of the hexagons. These hexagons are small! See the quarter? They are small!

I really think I want to put together the finished flowers, put a border on, and hand quilt it.

That leaves me with a lot of hexagons.

So I made some of these.

I did not turn the edges under. I just sewed close to the edge. I finished the inside with a piece of fabric that is sewn on close to the outside edge of the card.

I think they turned out kind of cute. I might make some more!

On my needles

On my needles right now...

I picked up this project that has been put away for a while.

From Knit 'n Style December 2010 Issue 170

Pretty in Pink
 Designed by Vanessa Ewing

Yarn is Patons Grace Lavender

I like the longer length and the loose, swingy style. Someday I might get to wear it!

Done and Delivered!

I finished these Wednesday evening and delivered them to the secretary at church on Thursday morning. Yay! She was excited to see they were finished and I was excited to get them delivered.

I had just replenished my stash of towels and trim, not knowing I would be making towels for siblings. The trim is the same - one with blue ribbon, one with pink ribbon. I tried to make them match as closely as I could since they are for siblings. Sometimes I change the font for the names, depending on how long the name is.
I wish these towels did not have the fringe on the ends. Sometimes I cut it off, turn it up and cover all four edges with trim. I just did not have the time for that this time.

Frustration Flinging

Fair warning....
if you don't want to read my complaints you can skip this post :)

And, I know there are many people who have it much worse than I do. I realize I am blessed to have what I do have. My family is basically healthy, I don't really want for anything, I know it could be a lot worse. Just want to get that out there.

But.... It has been a day and is just barely past 11:00 am.

Actually, it started a few days ago.

Frustration #1
I had been asked about 6-7 years ago to make baptism towels for the church I used to attend. I just asked that I be given a few weeks notice. I cross-stitch a cross, the baby's name and the birth date and baptism date on the towels.

Anyway, I had heard that there were 2 baptisms coming up in August. So I called the church secretary to see what she knew. There are 2, not twins but siblings. The baptism date is August 12th. Uh.. that isn't much notice, especially for TWO! But how can I say no? I know, I CAN say no, and my husband thinks I should have said no, but I just didn't feel right about that. I want to finish them and get them to the church Thursday am when the secretary is there. Otherwise it is harder to get them delivered.

Frustration #2
Today I registered my son for school. His senior year. Wow, the time has gone by quickly. Most people I know are sad their kids are in their final year of school. Some are even in tears. Not  me! I am so thankful that after this year I won't have to deal with IEP meetings and IEPs  that aren't followed, broken down wheelchair lifts, and people that 'just don't get it' when it comes to disabilities.

Frustration #3
While talking to the incoming secretary for my building she mentioned that there are NO office supplies for her. Apparently the out-going secretary didn't feel she needed to order any. AARRRGGG.

Frustration #4 and #5
This ties in with the towels.
My car needed the oil changed. My husband decided that since I was going to town to register the kid for school I could just drive on over to the town half an hour away to get the oil changed.
Why is this 2 frustrations? Because,1 - why is it my job to get the oil changed? I do ALL the stuff in the house - laundry, meals, dishes, cleaning. Why can't he take care of the 'guy' stuff? AARRGGG

And, 2 - I need to get those baptism towels finished! Getting the oil changed is taking time out of my day. AAARRRGGG
But,I decided that I needed to 'just do it' so I did. And, it didn't take that long. YAY!

But as I was sitting there waiting I decided I needed to go to school to check on the orders for myself and the secretary.

Frustration #6
I went to the building I work in to see if maybe she just didn't find her box and also to check on my order. Nothing there - for her OR me. There was a problem last year with my order not being sent in by my principal. It was never determined if he forgot (he tends to) or if I didn't do it properly. So this year I made sure I did it properly and that he got my order request. AARRRGGG.

Frustration #7
My son had a bladder issue last week (he has to self- cath, spina bifida, you know).
Saw the urologist on Friday. They collected urine for a culture because the doc was pretty sure my son was 'infected', as he kept saying, and with all the poking around they did they wanted to be sure he didn't get an infection from that. They were going to call in a prescription for an antibiotic but when I called the pharmacy to see if it was ready they hadn't received it. So... I called the the doc office. Somehow, the sample never made it to the lab and we would need to have that done at our local doc.
I called them yesterday as soon as I got off the phone with the uro office. The local office thought we needed to make an appointment. Don't think we really need to do that, just give me a collection cup and we will bring it back with a sample. No, pretty sure we need an appointment. OK.
Today, just as I was walking in the door from coming back from registration/oil change/no order at school the phone was ringing. It was the local doc office. The nurse wanted to remind me that their restroom is pretty small and she didn't think the wheelchair would fit in there. I said we could take the sample in the exam room and was an appointment really necessary? Nurse said 'Oh, no, you don't need an appointment. Just come get a collection cup and bring it back later. OK, great, I can do that. She immediately called back and asked if I could please do that before 11:00. The courier comes at 11:00. It was 10:00 at the time. Time enough to do that, but if they had just told me that yesterday I could have gotten the cup yesterday and dropped the sample off this morning when I was out anyway. AAARRRGGG.

Here is a picture of my front flower bed.

There are a few plants hanging in there and blooming, but things are pretty sad looking. We, like other parts of the country, are in great need of rain. The sky is cloudy, but there is only a small percentage for rain. And, the husband has hay cut so we really don't want it to rain until after he bales it.

I'm tired. I'm grumpy. I just want to go back to bed and start my day over.
I think I will go work on those towels instead.

Design Wall Monday

It's Monday again...

On my design wall is this...

Blooming Stars Bed Runner
designed by Joanie Holton and Melanie Greseth
TailorMade ... by Design

Ordered from Keepsake Quilting

My mom ordered this and had asked me if I would help her cut it out. Of course I will!

My son had a doctor appointment in St. Louis last week. We usually spend the night before and after his appointment with my parents since the driving time is half what it would be from my house, plus it is a chance to get to spend some time with them. We live about 3 1/2 hours apart. I brought my mat and cutter with me thinking that if her kit was delivered while I was there I could get the fabric cut for her so she could start piecing. Worked out perfectly. The kit arrived the day we got there. We looked at it and decided it would be best if it came home with me for cutting and piecing. As far as I know my mother has never made a quilt. We felt this was a little more challenging than she was ready for.

It went together pretty well. This block is purple but my camera makes it look more blue. I don't know how to adjust the color.

Scrap bins

I like to keep my scraps organized

I kind of do it the way Bonnie Hunter does. You can check out her method here.
I cut my scraps as big as I can. I figure I can always cut them down if I need to. I have tubs for smaller than 2", 2", 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2", 4", 4 1/2", 5", 5 1/2", 6" and 6 1/2". Larger than that gets folded and put in a shoe cubby by color. Yardage pieces get folded and stored in a cabinet.
If I can only cut a piece to 4 inches I don't square it up. I leave it 4" by however long it is. I don't want to spend my time cutting it down, and who knows when I might need a piece bigger than 4" square?
I got my bins from Aldi several years ago. I have seen them other places too. They are advertised as children's toy storage. My husband is actually the one who thought these would work for fabric storage. Smart man!
My bins are tucked in the corner behind my frame.
Did you notice the little rooster cabinet above the bins? My lovely SIL GAVE that to me. She was out browsing antique stores one day, saw that cabinet and thought of me! My kitchen is decorated with roosters and I think she intended that I would use it there. It is perfect for holding the supplies I use for quilting. And, it fits nicely right there.

I have also been trying to use Bonnie's method of using leaders and enders by sewing 2" square together and then into 4 patches. I was sewing a light and a dark together. I didn't really have a plan in mind. I think I need a plan! So...

I made a mystery quilt once following along as the clues were posted. I didn't care for the finished quilt so now I watch but wait until the final clue is posted before I decide if I will make the quilt.

I decided to start a mystery quilt.
Star Path designed my Nancy Miller.
It is a Yahoo group at  MysteryQuilts4Military.
I have clues A, B, D and half of C cut.
I really like this one so I am getting the clues ready.

So far I have gotten most of the fabric from my scrap bins. I am going to have to cut into FQ for some it it, but not much. I cut as much as I could from the scraps I had for the size pieces called for. I had to cut some of the bigger scraps down. But that's ok. I am glad I had them and I ended up with some smaller scraps from cutting the bigger ones down. They are smaller than I need for this project but they will get used on another.

Now I have a plan for leaders and enders.

Design Wall Monday

It's that time again... time to show what's on your design wall. To see what others are working on go to Judy's blog here.

Here is what I have been working on...

A Quilts for Kids quilt.
They always send me the cutest fabrics.
I think these are great for a girl.
Cupcakes!

My lovely sister-in-law asked me to make her a new purse/wallet. She wanted it in denim and gave me an old pair of Levi's jeans to use.

She loves her old one and really had a hard time letting me take it, but I needed it to look at while making the new one.

This thing has 20!, yes 20, pockets in all.
It really is a nice size.
Big enough to hold the necessary items, like checkbook, credit cards, license, etc.
But small enough to fit into a bigger purse.
The little handles fits over the wrist if she needs to have her hands free.

I used a back pocket and the Levi's patch from the waist band for one of the outside pockets.

I used the zipper fly for the other outside pocket.

I used 3 different blue fabrics and 1 red bandana type print for the inside.

3 zippers - I do not enjoy putting in zippers.

There are 2 sides to this purse. One side opens flat and has credit card sized pockets. The other side opens to a zippered pocket and several open pockets.
The two sided zip closed and the zippers are attached to each other at the center.
The seams were really thick and my machine would not handle all that fabric so there was a lot of hand sewing.

But she is such a sweet person that I didn't mind doing it.

But, please, don't ask me to make another one!
