To see what other quilters are up to go to Small Quilts and Doll Quilts.
The new clue for the Quilt Exchange Mystery was sent out on the first of the month. I am working away on it. There is more sewing for this clue but I am getting close to having it all pieced.
I will be quilting a smallish quilt in the next few days and have started loading it on the frame.
I have started a new project. Husband had seen this pop up on Facebook a couple of times. This time when he said "I really like this", he decided I needed to order it. So I did. It is the Beachcomber Jacket from Laundry Basket Quilts.
Husband really liked the colors/fabrics used in the picture on the pattern cover. Unfortunately, the kit is no longer available so I ordered a fat eighths bundle that looked 'close enough'.
I like the fabrics and am having fun deciding which ones to put together into the stars.
The pattern is mostly sawtooth stars and calls for six 12-inch blocks and twenty-four 6-inch blocks, plus some filler pieces. I have sewn a few blocks every day since it arrived. I have a ways to go yet.
Yesterday I heard a scratching noise at the window. It was a squirrel sitting on the ramp railing that is right outside the picture window where my quilt machine is. He was just sitting there looking in.
This picture is from last year, but it could have been from yesterday. I wonder if it is the same squirrel? Then, later I caught Squirrel eating the leaves of one of the cyclamen plants in the flower box at the corner of the ramp. Husband went out to look up in the two trees in the front yard. There are four leave nests in those trees. I hope that doesn't mean there are four squirrels!
I am happy to see the birds that are in my yard lately. There has been a yellow finch on the coneflowers the last few mornings.
And, there has been a hummingbird hanging around, too! Every morning and evening it comes up to the feeder closest to the front door and just hangs out for about an hour. Another one comes around to fuel up and gets chased away.
I tried to add a wire to this feeder for the bird to perch on. The blue painter's tape is hold it on. The bird didn't seem impressed with my efforts, though, as it wasn't using it so I removed it today when I refreshed the liquid I made up fresh this morning.
Here are a few more blocks from the Endangered Species exhibit.
Stay safe and well.
Happy quilting!

Love your squirrel pictures. They are cute little animals but oh so destructive. I enjoy watching my birds through the door out of my studio. I'm not sure how much longer the hummers will stay. Your stars are coming along wonderfully. I like the idea of doing a few blocks a day or week. It may not be done really fast but it will be done!
Love your star blocks! And those endangered species quilts are amazing - thanks for sharing - ;))
