My son, who is disable physically and visually needed an ID card. Required forms include one signed by a doctor stating that he does have a permanent disability causing him not to be able to drive. Got that done last summer, but then didn't have one of the other required forms. OK, get a replacement and try again. The form from the doctor was outdated so we had to get a new one. I did think this might be happen so I called to check. The lady I spoke with was very nice and explained what we needed well. I was able to print out the required doctor form and took it to the clinic. Since the doctor is not at the clinic every day we had to wait a few days to get it back. They were nice too. The doc marked BOTH the physically disabled box and the visially disabled box. Makes sense, my son qualifies for both. DMV would not accept that. You can only put ONE on the ID card. DMV is 30 minute drive from where I live, doc is close to where I live. Doc does not have office hours every day at the clinic near where I live. Fortunately for me, the doc was in that day and filled out the new form as soon as I brought it in. I understand the DMV has rules for a reason, but it is obvious that my son has both disabilities. I don't know why they couldn't have just accepted the paper and choose one of the disabilities to put on the ID card. Anyway, got the card.
On to quilty matters:
The top photo was a kit from Keepsake Quilting called Cascades. Love the batiks. My husband likes to keep me busy. He snags the catalog before I see it and picks out what he likes. Good thing we have the same taste :)
The next photo is two different projects, again thanks to my husband. The one on the right is called Magna Chroma. It is ready to be quilted. I will hand quilt it.
The one on the left is called New York Run Around. It is fabric foundation pieced. First time I have foundation pieced on fabric. I have done paper before. It is pretty much the same except you don't have to remove paper when finished. Makes it thicker though so I think I will machine quilt that one. I may add borders to make it bigger also.
The bottom photo is a counted cross stitch project that I started years ago. I loved it then and still do, but I have decided I will never finish it. It is about 1/3 stitched. I don't know anyone who does this anymore so I am unsure what to do with it. Anyone interested?
