Design Wall Monday

Not much to report today...

Quilter's Exchange blocks for this month.
I made the block on the upper right.

A co-worker, the librarian for the school district where I work, is retiring at the end of this year.
Several years ago she was awarded a grant from the Illinois Arts Council. She, some other teachers and some parent volunteers helped students make these quilts. The letters and shapes were fused to muslin squares and sewn into these tops. I believe there are 4 tops. 2 tops were donated by 2 of the teachers involved in this project. My job was to quilt one of them. Since my co-worker is a big Dr. Seuss fan I decided to use some Dr. Seuss fabric I had on hand to piece the back. The quilting is finished and I am stitching down the binding, then on to a hanging sleeve.

Since her retirement celebration at our school is Wednesday I guess I better get busy!

Looks like you should be done in time. What a cool retirement gift.
