On my wall is nothing new.
I did make 2 of these.
I have mentioned before that my mother-in-law is now a resident of a nursing home. I had made her a wreath for door before Christmas. I purposely made it NOT Christmasy. I wanted it to look more winterish so it could be used all winter. It was an evergreen wreath with red berries, pine cones and a small snowman. Well, all the other residents took their wreaths off their doors after the new year and my father-in-law thought I should take hers down as well. I explained that I made it more winterish than Christmasy, but he insisted. So I made a small heart quilt for her door. When I showed it to my co-worker friend so really liked it. Since her birthday in Valentines Day I thought she needed one too.
The embroidery design fits the space nicely, but I am not sure I like it. I see a weird face whenever I look at it!
I also added a border to this quilt.
So that makes my stash report look like this:
Used this Week: 2 yard
Added this Week: 0 yards
Added Year to Date: 5 1/2 yards
I have been doing some knitting in the evenings while watching the Olympics.
I finished up this top. I is knit from Patons Grace.
It really does look a lot cuter in person and on.
I have gotten lots of compliments on it.
I have now started this sweater.
I have discovered that I love the look of variegated yarns - in the skein. Not so sure how I feel about them once they are knit into a garment. :(
I had finished the piecing of this New York Beauty a few years ago, but hadn't done anything else with it. It is foundation pieced on muslin so I knew I wouldn't be hand quilting it. I am not confident enough yet to attempt machine quilting it.
I am pretty confident with my embroidery machine though! However, my centering skills need work. This is still a work in progress, but hopefully it will be finished soon.
I was shopping at my local dollar store this weekend and found these awesome boxes!
I got one for each size except the one between the biggest one and the next smaller one. I also didn't get the smaller ones that are sized more like photo storage size. They seem pretty sturdy. You can see that I already have some things in the box with compartments. The big boxes are just boxes- not compartments.
I love the colors and patterns. So cheerful.
I plan to use them to store projects in as I work on them.
I may have to go back and get more, but the shelf was looking pretty empty when I left. I hope they continue to stock these.
